Patterns are finally emerging that are peaceful for both baby and momma. And at this point, momma, who has been asleep for more than one hour probably once or twice in the last 6-7 days, welcomes the respite as much as Hollis. All words ever written describing the peace it brings to see a sleeping baby are true.
Day 1 at home: dogs get curious
Upon reflection on all the media captured in the first few hours and days of Hollis Caroline Hughen, this video documents a moment better perhaps than anything else has. Dad is exhausted, Hollis rocks the mamaroo, Otto is nonplussed but sweet, and Elsie is driven my her mama-pug instincts to get a closer look…
In the years to come, this video will likely bring back the profound feeling of accomplishment I had at having secured everyone back from the hospital healthy and happy.
Hollis heads home
We are happy to announce that Hollis Caroline Hughen was born at 6:25am on Monday morning, October 15.
7 pounds, 7 ounces, and 20 inches.
Hollis has her Mom’s beautiful eyes and her Dad’s feet.
Emily is just fine and resting comfortably after doing a spectacular job. Jay is in awe of both girls.
